Going forward without Dick LeBeau

Dick LeBeau

Saturday, whenever everyone that is most was focused in the two playoff games that have been played, there is a bit of news that shocked Pittsburgh and has Arizona Cardinals fans talking. Longtime Pittsburgh Steelers coordinator that is protective LeBeau resigned from his work on Saturday, which he had held since 2004.

"we had a run that is excellent Pittsburgh," LeBeau said. "I'm grateful for many the things that have happened to me and thankful for all the support we had in Pittsburgh."

The Steelers issued a statement thanking LeBeau.

I am profoundly saddened to hear of Coach LeBeau's resignation through the Pittsburgh Steelers. I absolutely adore him. He is such a sweet, friendly, wonderful man, and a role model for the teenage boys he coaches. He is a person of integrity. We always smiled as he was showed by them in the sidelines. Become doing just what he does at his age is admirable. And he's such a cutie-pie. And my secret fan.

He is a living legend and the epitome of the things I think a coordinator that is protective the team I love so much must certanly be. I will miss him so much, but hope he continues to adhere to their aspirations, whatever they could be. We shall continue to follow his profession if mentoring football is the trail he continues to follow.

It had been a parting that is mutual of, one in which took place as it was "time to go an additional direction."

"we would like to thank Dick for their numerous years of solution aided by the team and all that he has done because of this organization," Steelers advisor Mike Tomlin stated. "His coaching helped lead us to numerous seasons which are successful championships. We are very appreciative of his efforts, and he is wished by us well."

The decision is intriguing for Arizona Cardinals fans because Cardinals coordinator that is protective Bowles could leave Arizona for a mind coaching task. He has interviewed with four groups so far.

The future is motivating however, as blueprints set by teams just like the Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers have shown championship caliber defenses could be integrated only a periods that are few.  The Steelers have the lucky circumstances of having as close to a start that is fresh feasible, with a few players very nearly assuredly leaving and LeBeau moving forward to greener pastures.  Whoever coaches the defensive part of the ball in Pittsburgh in 2015 will have the luxury of undergoing a bit of a rebuilding process, teaching a defense that is young of brand new faces just how to play Steeler football.

Head coach Bruce Arians and LeBeau do have a relationship. These people were both in the Steelers staff for decades whenever Arians was a position mentor and coordinator that is then offensive.

To some, it could appear to be LeBeau freeing himself up to go someplace else. The reports will not state LeBeau is retiring, though at age 77, it is not out from the question.

If Butler is definitely next in line, he’s going to have some mighty footwear that are big fill. LeBeau served once the Black and Gold’s DC for 11 periods, completing with the utmost effective overall ranking five times and having just ONE product which failed to finish within the top ten. He’s the innovator of the area blitz scheme which practically every defense uses in a single form or another. Ahead of coming here,

his first stint as DC was for the Bengals where his brilliance helped them to a run that is brief an AFC powerhouse and a Joe Montana two minute drill away from being Super Bowl champions. It’s okay, though, because he won two bands right here with us.

With a strong draft that is defensive waiting and several young players with potential already rostered in Pittsburgh, possibly a fresh start is what the defense needs to become great once more.
